Some Design Concepts for West Concord

The Town’s consultant, the Cecil Group, met with the Village Committees in mid June to present some design ideas. The Cecil Group reviewed the information that they received through Public Workshops, meetings with the Village Overlay Committee, discussions with residents and business people in each village, and the results submitted from over 50 questionnaires.

The Cecil Group presented three exploratory alternative concepts for each of the three villages (a total of nine concepts). The spirit of these concepts was simply to explore a number of actions that might be good ideas. Each alternative is an embryonic design concept which combines some ideas that seem to fit well together.  These concepts are simply the very beginning of the design process. See Design Alternatives Proposed by the Cecil Group.

The Village Overlay Committee reviewed these concepts and has formulated some preliminary concepts; these are outlined in the report  Recommendations for the Village Center Study
